Susan Boyle couldn’t hide her delight as she attended the local village gala in her hometown of Blackburn, West Lothian today.
The multi-millionaire singer was the guest of honour at the annual event and despite worldwide success and recognition, it appeared as if the acknowledgement of her hometown was the most important thing to Susan.
She received a commemorative plaque for 'putting Blackburn on the map'.
Susan Boyle was the headline act for a fundraiser for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow. She closed the show singing 4 songs - You Raise Me Up, You'll Never Walk Alone, Who I Was Born To Be, and I Dreamed A Dream. She also posed with 'Pudsey' in support of Children In Need 2013.
All proceeds from the event at the Clyde Auditorium went to the hospice's £15 million Brick by Brick Appeal to create a new facility next to Bellahouston Park in Glasgow.
