About the Image: From the Liverpool Echo:

"Britain's Got Talent dancer Julia Carlile confirmed she’s on the road to recovery after a second back operation paid for by Simon Cowell.
The schoolgirl won the hearts of the nation when she made it to this year’s finals with dance troupe MerseyGirls – after revealing she had scoliosis, a condition where the spine is curved to one side.
Moved by her story, head judge Simon vowed to help her and later promised to pay for the surgery she needed.
Julia said on Twitter: “Second surgery was a success! Now on the road to recovery. Thankyou @SimonCowell @CowellOnline #strong #recovery #fighter”
Last week she shared an update after her first operation, revealing she was dancing again after just nine days.
She wrote: “9 days post op and i’m dancing already, it was a long bumpy road to recovery but i did it!”
The £175,000 procedure is called vertebral body tethering, where screws are fixed along a cord inside the back.
It takes six weeks to recover from and is reversible if it doesn’t work."

Update from the Echo:

"Iconic performers from Britain's Got Talent are headed to Liverpool in aid of Alder Hey children's hospital.
The shows, which will take place at the Liverpool Empire, will feature Susan Boyle and Paul Potts, as well as Collabro, Tokio Myers and Attraction.
Taking place on February 11, the shows will coincide with MerseyGirls performer Julia Carlile's return to dance."

[Julie Carlile] told the Echo: "I benefited so much from Simon's kindness and now I want to do the same for Alder Hey, who have treated me for scoliosis since I was very young. They've stood by me and now I want to do what I can for them."
